Just ran my main rig, and GT for comparison.

145** on main rig, 134** on GT.

Can't believe your laptop cleaned my clock! Well done!

steadily tweaking and testing the cpu upto hopefully 3.2ghz which according to the alienware user forums is pretty easy to attain, no volt mods just fsb changes are required.

currently testing @ 3.12ghz in prime95... all cores@ 100% load

er wait core 3 is getting very near to my maximum desired heat cealing, i aint pushing it any further..

not that i would ever use it at those freq's anyways its purely just for benching purposes

Can you supplement the Lappies cooling somehow? Connect another monitor, and flip the lappie upside down and get some serious air on it. Even take it outside, it's bloody freezing just now. Should see you get more MHZ stably.

all the m17x's that have gone higher have 2 drives inraid 0, or even solid states + 280's or even ati gfx chips, ive done very well, i dont think anyone has scored as high with the 260's those 12 stream processers seem to make all the difference

Thought about it, but that would mean a new water block as well.

The ATI 5*** looks pretty good, but prices are still too high, so I'm gonna hold off and see what the green team comes up with.

Prices should drop with a bit of competition.
